First McLaren Speedtail is delivered

After revealing the Speedtail two years ago, McLaren has now delivered the first customer examples of the hypercar.

The first car, finished in a shade of purple, was handed over to its owner at the McLaren dealership in Brussels, Belgium. As you might have expected, the car looks even more insane on the road than it does in pictures.

For those unfamiliar with the Speedtail, it is the latest addition to McLaren’s flagship Ultimate Series range of cars. It’s been described by the company as the true successor to the F1, due mostly to its three-seat layout, but also because it’s been designed to be the ultimate grand tourer rather than a pure track machine, just like the F1.

Car Payment Relief During Coronavirus

Payment Deferral Programs

Several automakers are currently offering payment deferrals for customers experiencing financial hardship.

Hyundai has relaunched Assurance, a program it originally introduced in 2009 during the economic downturn to offer help to consumers. It provides up to six months of payment relief for owners who lose their jobs, making it the most generous outright assistance package we’ve seen. New buyers can get 90 days of deferred payments on new purchases of both Hyundai and Genesis vehicles.

The Ford Credit homepage has a number existing owners can call to discuss payment options for their Ford or Lincoln. Additionally, Ford will be offering 90 days of deferred payments on new purchases. While these new-purchase incentives are enticing, it’s important to carefully consider your situation before committing to a loan.

2020 Automobile All-Stars: Lamborghini Huracan Evo vs. Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

It’s not all about power—but it plays a big role

The varied field of our 2020 Automobile All-Stars contenders proves we live in very strange automotive times. All of these disparate cars convened on equal proving grounds, each bringing different strengths to the tarmac while remaining quite distinct from each other. The very idea of pitting a Mustang of any caliber against a Lamborghini of the same vintage may seem strange today, but doing so in the 2000s would incite ridicule; in the 1980s you’d run the risk of inviting written death threats; and in the 1960s, you might be committed against your will.

Thank goodness we’ve moved on from those
